The Importance of Bird Seed Feeders

A bird seed feeder is the perfect way to help the populations of birds thrive, especially during times where food sources may be scarce. Having a bird feeder that is consistent and reliable helps to provide the bird with the nutrients that they need, and a seed feeder will cater to a wide range of bird species diets.

Bird seed feeders and bird tables are a great way to support the local population of birds in urban and sub urban environments, in these areas it is important to look after our feathered friends to ensure they have everything they need. In addition to this, having a seed feeder is a great way to observe many different wild bird species in your garden!

How Long can Bird Seeds stay in a seed feeder?

In general, it's recommended to regularly clean and refill bird feeders, ideally every one to two weeks, to ensure that the seeds remain fresh and free from contamination.

If the weather conditions are wet or humid, the feed can spoil more quickly, so during these periods, we recommend that you check the feeder more frequently.

    The best location

Place the bird seed feeder in a location that is easily viable to birds, so that they have space to land and can access the feeder without any obstacles, remember that you need to access it to top up the seed so make it easily reached by humans too!

If you have potential hiding spots for ground predators, position the feeder away from these to provide safety for the birds.

You can hang these seed feeders on a branch or a feeding station.
