Nutritional Needs of Blue Tit Bird Seed
All wild Tits are high energy birds who need food that supports this incredibly active lifestyle, as well as helping them with feather growth and general health.
Protein
Crucial for muscle development, growth and health, protein is a really important part of this birds diet. You can offer mealworms or suet pellets to help fulfill this nutritional need and attract smaller birds into your garden. In our seed mixes, we have a range of insect mixes which are rich sources of protein for these birds.
Fat
To maintain body temperature and their metabolic rates, fat is really important. They love nuts, seeds and suet and these are all included in some of our mixes. This means they can sustain their daily activities such as foraging and flying.
Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are another important source of energy for Blue Tits and Wild Tits. Seeds, grains, and fruits are natural sources of carbohydrates in their diet. Providing a diverse mix of seeds, such as kibbled sunflower hearts, nyjer seed, and white millet and red millet, ensures these small colourful birds have access to a variety of carbohydrates to meet their energy needs throughout the year. Our wild bird food mixes are the perfect way meet all of these birds needs, in a seed feeder, for the Blue Tit and other species such as the Long Tailed Tit.
How to Attract Blue Tits and Wild Tits to Your Garden
If you have a seed feeder or bird table in your garden, a wild tit seed mix is sure to have them coming into your garden, however, there are some other ways to encourage Blue Tits, Great Tits, Willow Tits and other Tit species into your outside space.
If you can, provide a shallow dish of water, or a bird bath, so that the birds have fresh water to bathe in and drink. This helps them stay healthy and clean.
